Used Pedal Harps

The pedal harp or concert harp is designed for classical music and is a descendant of one of the earliest harps. These diatonic instruments are equipped with a double action pedal mechanism to allow chromatic alterations and key changes. This harp has seven strings per octave, no matter how you set the pedals. The modern pedal harp does have seven pedals to change the pitches of the strings. There are three pedals on the left side of the harp which control the strings D C and B, on the right side there are four pedals that control the strings E, F, G and A.
Some features of the pedal harp are:
- Six and a half octaves, so that means 46 or 47 strings.
- Eighty pounds or 36 kilogram of weight.
- Six feet or 1.8 meter high.
- Depth of four feet or 1.2 meter.
- The bass end of the soundboard is twenty one and a half inches or 55 centimeter wide .
- The range of notes go from three octaves below middle C to three octaves above G.
